Responsibilities
- Architect 5-10 year technology roadmaps aligning with emerging quantum computing, AR/VR, and neuromorphic computing trends
- Lead strategic partnerships with academic institutions and Fortune 500 companies for R&D initiatives
- Develop ethical AI governance frameworks ensuring responsible deployment of autonomous systems
- Identify and commercialize intellectual property through patent development and licensing strategies
- Present technology forecasts to C-suite executives and industry conferences
- Mentor a team of 3-5 researchers specializing in future-tech domains
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D funding through grant writing and investor pitches
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or related field with 8+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies (2+ successful exits)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum algorithms, neuromorphic engineering, or decentralized AI
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, IEEE) or equivalent patents
- Experience with technology forecasting methodologies (Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
- Strong network connections with DARPA, NSF, or EU Horizon Europe programs
- Certification in Technology Strategy Management (TSM) or equivalent
