Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 5-year technology roadmaps for emerging domains (quantum computing, synthetic biology, advanced AI)
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, researchers, and designers in prototyping next-gen solutions
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies and market opportunities
- Present strategic visions to C-suite executives and external stakeholders
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar R&D budgets
- Collaborate with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Drive patent development and intellectual property strategy
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy with 5+ years in emerging tech roles
- Proven track record launching products that impacted >10M users
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, advanced AI, biotech, or aerospace
- PhD or equivalent in relevant STEM field with peer-reviewed publications
- Experience managing >$5M annual R&D budgets
- Exceptional communication skills for executive-level presentations
- Portfolio of 3+ patented innovations or major tech breakthroughs
