Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning
- Lead a cross-disciplinary team of physicists, computer scientists, and hardware engineers
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with government agencies on quantum security initiatives
- Drive commercialization of quantum applications in finance, logistics, and pharmaceuticals
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science and speak at quantum conferences
- Secure $20M+ in government and venture funding for quantum projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in quantum computing with demonstrable algorithm implementations
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq)
- Proven track record of publishing top-tier quantum research
- Experience managing R&D teams of 10+ scientists
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ions, photonic)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Clearance for DOE/NIST quantum security projects (or ability to obtain)
