Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical models into scalable quantum hardware
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patents for quantum computing breakthroughs
- Collaborate with government agencies on quantum security standards for 2026 infrastructure
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory and experimental physics
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level hardware interfacing
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics and information theory
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal or corporate quantum research grants
