Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-corrected quantum circuits using superconducting and photonic systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum-resistant cryptography for next-gen cybersecurity frameworks
- Publish high-impact papers in Nature/Science journals and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise PhD interns from UT Austin's Quantum Information Science program
- Secure $1M+ in government grants (DARPA, NSF) and corporate partnerships for quantum projects
- Develop quantum software SDKs compatible with major cloud platforms (AWS Braket, Azure Quantum)
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum journals/conferences with algorithmic contributions
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with experience in high-performance computing environments
- Clearable background check for government research clearance eligibility
