Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for machine learning and cryptography applications
- Optimize qubit coherence times and error correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams to translate theoretical models into hardware-compatible solutions
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure federal and private sector research grants totaling $500K+ annually
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
- Contribute to ethical AI frameworks for quantum deployment
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF or DoE grants
- Expertise in topological quantum computing or quantum machine learning
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and superconducting circuits
