Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives across the organization
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships to advance quantum computing accessibility
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and circuit optimization
- Proven track record publishing in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong Python/C++ proficiency with experience in high-performance computing
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects with measurable outcomes
- Experience securing DoE or NSF grants is highly desirable
