Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using real quantum hardware
- Collaborate with physicists to develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Participate in international quantum computing conferences as a keynote speaker
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics principles
- Experience with cloud quantum computing platforms (Amazon Braket, Google Quantum AI)
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF or DoE research grants
- Strong background in high-performance computing architectures
