Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop novel quantum error correction techniques to overcome decoherence challenges
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum cryptography and secure communication protocols
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international quantum conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-functional innovation across physics, CS, and engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and statistical physics
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, trapped ions, photonics)
- Proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
