Responsibilities
- <ul><li>Conduct comprehensive technical audits to identify and resolve crawl errors, indexability issues, and site performance bottlenecks.</li><li>Optimize site architecture, URL structures, and internal linking strategies to improve crawlability and user navigation.</li><li>Implement and monitor Core Web Vitals (CWV) to ensure fast, mobile-friendly user experiences across all devices.</li><li>Collaborate closely with web developers and content teams to execute schema markup (JSON-LD), canonical tags, and robots.txt directives.</li><li>Lead the development and execution of XML sitemaps and robots.txt files to ensure proper search engine indexing.</li><li>Monitor search console data, crawl stats, and keyword rankings to provide actionable insights and recommendations.</li><li>Mentor junior SEO analysts and conduct code reviews to ensure best practices are followed throughout the department.</li><li>Stay abreast of Google algorithm updates and industry trends to proactively adjust strategies.</li></ul>
Qualifications
- <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical SEO, preferably within the US government or large enterprise sectors.</li><li>Deep understanding of Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and other SEO analytics tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).</li><li>Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript debugging to collaborate effectively with development teams.</li><li>Strong knowledge of site speed optimization techniques, image compression, and server-side caching.</li><li>Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or Sitecore.</li><li>Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business strategies.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li></ul>
