Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year innovation roadmaps for AI, biotech, and sustainable energy sectors
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and futurists
- Identify and evaluate disruptive technologies through patent analysis and academic partnerships
- Secure $5M+ in R&D grants from NSF and DARPA
- Present strategic frameworks to C-suite and board members quarterly
- Mentor junior researchers in speculative design methodologies
- Produce annual 'State of 2026' trend reports for Fortune 500 clients
Qualifications
- PhD in Futuristics, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years leading R&D initiatives in tech or biotech
- Published research in Nature or Science journals (2000+ citations)
- Proficiency in foresight frameworks (e.g., Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
- Track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Expertise in quantum computing or synthetic biology
- Security clearance (Top Secret) preferred
- Fluency in Mandarin or Arabic for global partnerships
