Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing and implementing quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Develop proprietary quantum error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with >1000 qubits
- Secure $5M+ annual research funding through NSF/DoD grants and industry partnerships
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and keynote at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry-academic consortiums
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years research experience
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and error correction architectures
- Proven track record of securing $2M+ in government research grants
- Experience leading teams of 10+ quantum researchers
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Security clearance preferred for DoD collaborations
