Responsibilities
- Develop 3-5 year technology roadmaps aligned with market evolution and organizational goals
- Lead research initiatives in emerging fields including quantum-resistant cryptography and neural interfaces
- Design and implement proof-of-concepts for next-gen systems (e.g., decentralized AI networks, bio-integrated tech)
- Present strategic technology forecasts to C-suite executives and external stakeholders
- Establish cross-functional innovation labs with academic and industry partners
- Author thought leadership publications on technological convergence points
- Mentor junior researchers in speculative design methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futurology (or 10+ years equivalent experience)
- Expertise in at least three emerging technologies (quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, synthetic biology)
- Published research in peer-reviewed journals or industry white papers
- Proven track record of launching technology pilots with measurable impact
- Deep understanding of ethical implications of advanced technologies
- Experience with scenario planning and horizon scanning methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts
- Portfolio demonstrating speculative design or technology forecasting work
