Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Manage patient scheduling, electronic health records (EHR), and inventory of medical supplies
- Perform basic lab tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Coordinate patient education materials and follow-up care instructions
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
