Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum computing architectures using superconducting qubits and topological systems
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum operations
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating quantum algorithms into scalable hardware solutions
- Partner with AI research divisions to integrate quantum accelerators into machine learning pipelines
- Contribute to quantum security frameworks for post-quantum cryptographic systems
- Present breakthrough architectures to industry consortiums and government agencies
- Mentor junior quantum engineers in advanced quantum physics principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in building quantum computing systems with demonstrated qubit coherence improvements
- Expertise in quantum algorithm optimization for NISQ-era hardware
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, color codes)
- Familiarity with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals
- Experience securing DoD or NSF quantum computing grants preferred
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and microwave control systems
