Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary R&D teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Design quantum algorithms for optimization problems in finance, logistics, and drug discovery
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to overcome qubit coherence challenges
- Secure $20M+ in government and industry grants for 2026 quantum initiatives
- Publish top-tier research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum curriculum for universities
- Establish partnerships with semiconductor manufacturers for cryogenic control systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubit architectures
- Proven track record of publishing in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Experience securing DoE/NSF grants for quantum research
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks and NISQ limitations
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and microwave control systems
