Responsibilities
- Architect and implement quantum computing research strategy aligned with 2026 technological milestones
- Lead a team of 8-10 quantum physicists and computer scientists in algorithm development
- Design fault-tolerant quantum systems with 100+ qubit capabilities
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and industry partnerships
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at global conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curriculum standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and cloud quantum platforms
- Proven track record of leading quantum projects with measurable outcomes
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware constraints and optimization techniques
- Strong background in machine learning and classical supercomputing integration
- Experience securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA preferred)
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
