Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability beyond 1000-qubit thresholds
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate operations at room-temperature systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum neural networks and topological quantum computing
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week conferences
- Secure $5M+ in DARPA/NSF grants for quantum computing research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Qiskit)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Proficiency with quantum simulators (Qiskit Aer, Cirq) and hardware APIs
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Track record of securing government or corporate research funding
- Preferred: Patent portfolio in quantum technology or startup founding experience
