Our state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco houses 256-qubit processors and offers unparalleled resources for experimentation. You'll lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and AI specialists while mentoring the next generation of quantum pioneers. This position includes equity grants, flexible research budgets, and opportunities for sabbatical collaborations with CERN and MIT.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead experimental research on superconducting and photonic qubit platforms
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry research grants annually
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates
- Author 3+ peer-reviewed publications per year in top-tier journals
- Collaborate with product teams to commercialize quantum computing solutions
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and other premier conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience with quantum hardware (superconducting/ion traps)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in quantum machine learning algorithms
- Strong background in cryogenic systems and microwave engineering
- Track record of securing NSF or DoD quantum research grants
- Experience mentoring graduate-level researchers
