Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead interdisciplinary research teams to prototype quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish groundbreaking findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure federal grants and corporate partnerships for quantum computing initiatives
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
- Translate theoretical models into practical quantum computing architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development with real hardware
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Published research in quantum computing or related fields (minimum 3 peer-reviewed papers)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Proven ability to secure research funding (NSF, DoE, or corporate grants)
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and superconducting qubits
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for NP-hard computational challenges
