Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum applications using IBM Q and Rigetti systems
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Develop error-correction techniques to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure $1M+ in NSF and DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit or Cirq
- Published research in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization
- Demonstrated experience securing government research grants
