Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability
- Lead experimental research using superconducting and trapped-ion qubits
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid solutions
- Publish findings in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure NSF and DARPA grants for advanced quantum research
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published papers
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Proficiency with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in quantum information theory and entanglement protocols
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Track record of securing government or industry research grants
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex quantum mechanical systems
