Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance qubit stability and coherence times
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into classical systems
- Publish research findings in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF, DOE, and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (e.g., IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Strong publication record in quantum information science or condensed matter physics
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures including superconducting qubits and trapped ions
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
