Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubits and topological architectures
- Develop error-correction protocols achieving fault-tolerant quantum computation thresholds
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and drive cross-functional quantum-AI integration projects
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NSF quantum computing grants annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Physics with 5+ years industry research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design, variational algorithms, and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or Q# and quantum simulation platforms like IBM Quantum Experience
- Track record of publishing top-tier quantum computing research (minimum 3 Nature/Science papers)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in high-stakes R&D environments
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and quantum information theory
