Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and simulation applications
- Develop error mitigation techniques to enhance quantum coherence and computational fidelity
- Lead experimental validation of quantum protocols using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum processors with 1000+ qubit capabilities
- Author breakthrough publications in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory and experimental physics
- Secure $5M+ in DoE/NSF grants for next-generation quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proficiency with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Strong track record of securing federal research grants
- Experience with machine learning for quantum state tomography
- Knowledge of NISQ-era algorithms and variational quantum methods
