Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers
- Publish research in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DoE
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with industry partners on quantum cryptography applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals (impact factor >10)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum assembly languages
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface/colour codes)
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Strong track record of securing government research funding
- Patents in quantum algorithm design or hardware optimization
- Expertise in tensor network simulations for large-scale quantum systems
