Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Oversee server health, network performance, and database integrity during night operations to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Incident Management: Respond to and resolve critical technical incidents and alerts that occur outside standard business hours.
- System Maintenance: Execute scheduled patching, backups, and software updates to enhance security and performance.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting support for internal teams and external clients during the night shift.
- Reporting: Generate detailed performance reports and documentation regarding overnight system activities and anomalies.
- Collaboration: Liaise with the day-shift engineering team to hand over tickets and ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux, Windows Server, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Tools: Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Splunk) and scripting languages (Python or Bash).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, including weekends.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clear technical documentation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
