- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with R&D, product, and venture capital teams
- Conduct horizon-scanning research to identify disruptive market opportunities
- Design patentable frameworks for sustainable technology ecosystems
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite executives and board members
- Mentor junior futurists through structured innovation methodology training
- Manage $2M+ annual innovation budget with ROI-focused allocation
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting
- Proven track record of launching award-winning future-tech products
- Expertise in at least two emerging domains: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic AI
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry whitepapers
- Strong background in systems thinking and complex adaptive systems modeling
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Futurology
- Certification in Innovation Management (e.g., PDMA, CIMP) preferred
- Experience with federal innovation grant programs (DARPA, NSF) highly desirable
