In this role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical machine learning breakthroughs and scalable, real-world deployment. You will lead a team of elite engineers building AI agents capable of complex decision-making in dynamic environments.
Why Apex?
- Impact: Your code will power the core logic of our upcoming autonomous logistics fleet.
- Culture: We offer unlimited PTO, comprehensive health coverage, and a remote-first culture with hubs in SF and NYC.
- Growth: Equity package and professional development stipends.
If you are obsessed with scalability, ethics in AI, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we want to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement large-scale distributed machine learning pipelines capable of processing petabytes of data.
- Lead the design of Reinforcement Learning environments for autonomous vehicle simulation.
- Mentor junior engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Collaborate with product managers to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions.
- Ensure the ethical use of AI, implementing robust bias detection and data privacy protocols.
- Optimize model inference latency to ensure real-time responsiveness in mission-critical applications.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience in building production-grade machine learning systems.
- Deep expertise in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and modern MLOps tools (Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow).
- Proven track record of deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) or Generative AI applications.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), and high-availability infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
