Responsibilities
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor server health, application performance, and database integrity to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Critical Incident Response: Lead the triage and resolution of complex technical issues that arise during off-hours with minimal supervision.
- Code Deployment: Execute scheduled deployments, patches, and upgrades to production environments without disrupting daytime operations.
- Automated Scripting: Develop and maintain internal scripts and tools to streamline night operations and reduce manual toil.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation and runbooks for all incident responses and system configurations.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Day Shift team to hand off tickets and ensure continuity of service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or Systems Administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go; experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or Azure.
- Availability: Must be willing to work a consistent Night Shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) schedule.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of resolving critical outages efficiently.
