Our state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco houses 500+ qubit systems and partners with NASA, IBM Quantum, and MIT. You'll lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists to overcome quantum decoherence challenges and develop error-corrected quantum processors capable of solving problems currently deemed impossible.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum circuit architectures for 500+ qubit systems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols achieving <0.1% logical error rates
- Lead integration of quantum-classical hybrid computing workflows
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize cryogenic control systems
- Research and implement novel quantum algorithms for NP-hard problems
- Present quantum computing roadmaps to C-suite and investors
- Drive open-source quantum software initiatives in Qiskit and Cirq
- Mentor junior quantum engineers through our 'Future Architects' program
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years designing quantum systems with demonstrated qubit scalability
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science journals or equivalent
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with superconducting qubits or ion trap systems
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
