Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate operations and qubit stability
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical workflows for enterprise clients in finance, pharmaceuticals, and logistics
- Secure research funding through NSF, DOE, and private industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish high-impact papers in Nature/Science journals
- Establish industry standards for quantum benchmarking and security protocols
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development with published research in top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum circuit design, Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent frameworks
- Proven track record of securing research grants ($1M+ preferred)
- Experience with superconducting, ion-trap, or photonic quantum systems
- Strong background in error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical research into commercial applications
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
