Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum advantage in complex computational problems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit architectures for specific use cases
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curricula for academic partnerships
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Develop error mitigation strategies for fault-tolerant quantum systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Expertise in at least one classical high-performance computing framework
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and entanglement principles
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and probability theory
