Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum processors using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop error mitigation protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum architectures for specific use cases
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at premier conferences like QIP and IEEE
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature/Science/Physical Review X)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, etc.)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and complexity classes
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Proven track record of translating theoretical models into experimental implementations
