Responsibilities
- Lead the 2026 Research Roadmap: Define and execute a long-term research agenda focused on the capabilities, limitations, and safety of AGI systems by the 2026 deadline.
- Develop Alignment Frameworks: Create mathematical and empirical methods to ensure AI systems remain safe, beneficial, and aligned with human values as they scale.
- Model Evaluation: Design rigorous benchmarks and testing suites to evaluate frontier models against safety standards and performance targets.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to integrate safety techniques directly into model training pipelines.
- Publish and Influence: Author high-impact papers in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and engage with the global AI safety community.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical research findings into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and external partners.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Reinforcement Learning.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX; deep understanding of Transformers, Diffusion models, and LLM architectures.
- Research Capability: Demonstrated ability to conduct original research, including experience publishing in top-tier academic venues.
- Strategic Thinking: Experience in forecasting AI capabilities and understanding long-term technological trends.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
