Responsibilities
- Develop 5-10 year technology roadmaps aligned with market evolution and societal shifts
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping and validating emerging technologies (quantum, neuromorphic computing, synthetic biology)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive innovations across aerospace, biotech, and energy sectors
- Present strategic frameworks to C-suite executives and external stakeholders including government agencies
- Establish innovation governance frameworks balancing ethical considerations with technological advancement
- Manage $2M+ annual R&D budget for experimental projects with measurable ROI projections
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Futures Studies (PhD preferred)
- 12+ years experience in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or innovation management
- Published research in peer-reviewed journals on emerging technology adoption patterns
- Proven track record of scaling experimental technologies to commercial deployment
- Deep expertise in at least three emerging domains: quantum computing, advanced AI, or climate tech
- Experience developing ethical frameworks for autonomous systems and AI governance
- Certification in Futures Methodology (e.g., Horizon Scanning, Delphi Technique)
