Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms leveraging IBM Quantum and IonQ systems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning models for enterprise applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL) and industry conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure government grants (NSF, DOE) and corporate partnerships for quantum projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum computing or related fields with minimum 5 peer-reviewed papers
- Proficiency with high-performance computing frameworks (HPC, MPI, CUDA)
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics principles and decoherence mitigation strategies
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (superconducting qubits, trapped ions, photonic systems)
- Strong track record of securing research funding or intellectual property development
