Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and materials science
- Develop novel quantum error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experimental validation using superconducting qubit platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to optimize quantum gate operations
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $5M+ in government/private quantum research grants
- Mentor PhD interns from top-tier quantum programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithm development or error correction
- Proficiency in quantum circuit simulation and optimization tools
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental implementations
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Experience securing government quantum research grants preferred
